Noisy comp
« on: November 04, 2009, 05:52:02 PM »
I switched on my comp this morning, and from it came this horrible noise, pretty much like a car engine on high revs.
Pressed the off button and on again, same noise.
So i let it boot up,then clicked the start and turn off.
Then i switched it on again, and it was fine, nice'n quiet like usual.
Went into the city this afternoon for a few hours, did a few bits'n pieces.
Came home, switched on my comp, same horrible bloody noise, let it boot up,then powered it down.
  Switched it on again,no problem,nice'n quiet. ???
So im thinking maybe it's the bearings in the fan.
Im used to having my machine on lots, but since i've been a little busier with other things,it hasn't been on as much.
I've also recently been switching it off at the wall socket.
Maybe something's having to warm up,it's perplexed me.
  Your thoughts anyone?

Get a young priest,and old priest,and a baseball bat.
Give it an exorcism with an attitude! lmao

Soundslike the fan to me. Tracy's did the same thing recently.
I keep my standards low.
That way im never disapointed.

I pretty much knew what it was i just bounced it off a few peeps at the den last nite.
It's the bearings in my CPU fan,im 99% sure.
It's on all day most days.
Just lately there's been less activity, even switching off at the wall socket so i can give it regular hard reboots,as they call em.
The bearing sleeve's warped or the bearing's off balance,or failing.
@ Skadi yes i do Avast,it's pretty good.
