I use black beans for lots of things.

Monday I did cook Salmon. Tuesday ate out Mexican food. Last night, cooked cheeseburgers, red bean and rice, and spinach salad. Tonight since I have a snow day off and extra time, I'm cooking a brisket, mashed potaotes and gravy, green beans, and fresh strawberries.

And what time shall I be coming over for dinner? ;)

Tonight was Spinach pizzas all round.  Unfortunately I kind of overdid it a bit with the Thai chilis on mine and had to eat the first quarter in agony. However, I had fully acclimatised for the remaining 3/4s.

Tonights dinner was hot and sour soup, dim sum, fried rice, Chinese broccoli and bok choy w/ beef.

Dessert was coconut pudding and fried sesame seed balls.

Those Thai chilis I had last night have come back to haunt me - however, the flu I was suffering has legged it.

Sounds like a feast!

the flu I was suffering has legged it.

Capsaicin has a well documented anti-inflammatory and analgesic action.

Tonight is girls night out so it's probably going to be pizza or sandwiches.

Tonight was a spicy Goan soup followed by a side of Salmon and salad (plus some chips for the kids.. and me of course).  I had one of the leftover Xmas mince pies for pudding with some Mango yoghurt. It looked kinda wrong in the bowl but it was actully quite lovely

Mince meat with mango yoghurt? Don't get me wrong, I'm not critizicing, just trying to understand.

The yoghurt was rich and had almost the consistency of custard.  So other than the original flavour combination the textures were familiar.  My son thought it was the best pudding combination he'd ever had - but he says that about every dessert he eats.

It's so good when kids accept to try different things/flavors. That's not my daughter's case.  :(

I know! It was a little indulgent for a weekday. :D After much consideration, my sister bought a new car (her 9 year old car had nearly 200,000 miles on it) and we had been in the dealership for hours that day, so we were really, really hungry.

Dinner tonight was leftover hot and sour soup and fried rice.

My husband bought tenderloin at a very good price so the freezer is full of meat now and that's what I cooked last night. I didn't have shallots so I used green onions, normal onions and garlic. Also mustard, herbs, balsamic vinegar, wine, etc, etc. I don't like red meat so I get carried away when I cook it.  :D  Some simple potatoes for my family and arugula salad for me. I'm a HUGE fan of arugula. I use it in salads, sandwiches, pizzas, etc.
Out of curiosity: how much does tenderloin cost in the rest of the world? We paid it 9 U$S/kg when it's normally 15-16.

I have no idea about the general price of meat although I do buy some weekly, but I usually only buy what's on an "offer".

Tonight I am making a simple penne with tomato sauce - mainly because I am worn out from working and I can make that with minimal effort.

Thanks God I have some wine left.
