Don't drink chocolate cherry cordial beer! It tastes exactly like beer + chocolate cherry cordials. I don't know what possessed me to think it might be interesting :D

Don't cook, eat, drink, smell, look at or even think of Marmite.

Don't ever cook with anise. (Except you're doing my grandma's pesti?os. You'll never do them that good anyway so bottom line is don't use it). Also stay away from arak, sambuca, and the like. Anise is ghastly.  ;D

That would be your dislike of licorice then XTas all those thing listed have that distinct flavor. Of course I completely agree with you. Let me ask you this; do you like root beer, creme soda or dr pepper even?

Its a VERY consistant taste thing. I usually find when someone dislikes one they dislike all. One time, as an incredible cruel joke, I asked my daughter for a drink of her soda and she gladly gave me her Dr Pepper telling me it was Coke. AAARRRGGGGG!!!!! I had to spit it out of the window it grossed me out so much.

Hate licorice with a passion.  Love root beer and cream soda but Dr. Pepper is the one drink I can't even stomach.  Carbonated prune juice is all it is.

Now if someone invite me with cream soda I'll say no thanks!

Also something consistent but much easier to see: when someone doesn't like let's say broccoli they will probably won't like cabbage, cauliflower, brussels sprout and kale. Once I chased my husband around the house with a piece of cauliflower just to laugh at his face of disgust!

Cream soda is Vanilla flavoured, which has to be one of the world's best flavours.

^ that's what it tastes like to me also.. and smoother then other soda.

but Dr. Pepper is the one drink I can't even stomach.  Carbonated prune juice is all it is.

^ it has a definite fruity taste

I hate anise. I spit a German Christmas cookie out in my hand in public one time :D It's the only time I've ever spit something out in public. I'd thought it was a Mexican wedding cookie. They look just alike, but one has anise, and the other doesn't ::)

I didnt say everyone has the same taste but it really happens more times than not.

Might as well try it. dweez sets the example for strange inconsistencies. Of course, it is dweez.  ::)

Never stated what the flavor of creme soda was just said it tastes like poo. Add red pop to the list too. In the US there is a union between the two. Im sure Smokes will now enjoy pointing out that red pop is supposedly strawberry flavored. They are both nasty!! And the world best flavors dont appeal to my taste buds. Well, that one anyway.

:D

As for creme soda, of course my favorite (favourite for our non-US family) is the A&W Sparkling Vanilla creme soda but I really can't buy 2 liters of that because I find, once it's opened, it goes flat really quickly.

You can keep those little mineral water bottles when they're done and fill them with the soda.  If the lids are on tight they shouldn't go flat.

Why are most of my favourite things getting mentioned in this thread?  ???

Dr Pepper tastes like marzipan. How can anyone not like it?

Cream soda is delicious with a huge scoop of ice cream in it.

I eat Liquorice allsorts all the time.

Nobody better start picking on the blue cheeses.  >:(

You can diss garden peas & green beans all you like though.  ;D

I like all the things you mentioned (including your dislikes  :D ).. except for licorice.. red licorice is fine.. just not black. Black jelly beans are also avoided. Blue cheese is one of the cheeses I really like. I don't like cheese very much :( I don't dislike it.. I just don't love it as much as everyone else seems to.

I don't mind Dr Pepper although marzipan is a bit too sweet and heavy for my like, don't mind the flavour though.

Cream soda is the nuts but these days it's hard to get it not sweetened with aspartame

Liquorice worked wonders when I had an ulcer, so I have a deep respect for it (can't drink Pernod or Sambuca though).

Blue cheeses are the don, not to mention just about every other type of cheese.

Cheese is one of the greatest human inventions!!

Don't eat or drink anything with pineapple flavor. Real pineapple is fabulous though.

(It might have to do with the flavor of a laxative they make me drink previous to a colonoscopy. I can't believe I'm writing this down.  :-[ ;D)

Bit different but I could never eat macaroni because my sister told me it was cut up worms.

Nope nothing in the recycle bin and it hasn't been emptied this year yet.  You must have written it and didn't submit it which indie used to do sometimes. He just used to click 'new replies' after a preview.

Durian.

Oh god.

Durian reeks, reeks so bad.  And it tastes creamy like milk.  And its consistency is squishy and pulpy and I wanna throw up already.

I smell durian, I have to hurl.

OMG, yes, when they fall on the floor and rotten in summer afternoons... I had forgotten about that smell. And they attract legions of insects. It has to be one of the few fruits I don't like. AT ALL. At least among those I've tried.

My sister bought two packets of lemon wafer cookies, so I thought. I mindlessly opened the packet without looking at the front and proceeded to put one in my mouth. A chomp, a few chews, a sniff of the half-eaten wafer in my hand. I thought, what the f,  I spit the wafer in the sink and rinsed my mouth out (I tried to any way).  I looked at the opened packet on the counter and it read ?Durian?. My sister bought the wrong cookies! It was the most horrible thing I?ve tasted in my life. The smell got on the end of my nose when I sniffed the wafer, even though I washed it several times I couldn?t get the smell out of my nostrils for hours.

I recycle plastic bags, but at the moment I didn?t give a flying fig about being green and saving the planet, I had to get them out of the house! I triple-bagged those cookies, and threw them in the garbage can in the backyard. That?s how awful the smell was. I was so traumatized I didn?t even eat any of the lemon wafers my sister actually bought.

Moral of the story: DO NOT EAT DURIAN! And DO NOT eat these wafers

You hate lettuce? That must be one of the most inoffensive foods out there.
Iceberg lettuce is highly offensive to me. If someone offers it to me as the only lettuce in a salad, expect trouble.

I feel the same way about bananas. I love real bananas and anything with fake banana flavoring makes me gag.

I like fresh pineapple, pinapple upside down cake, pineapple on pizza, and pineapple Lifesavers. I don't love canned pineapple, but it wouldn't make me puke.. fake banana in juices tastes like throw up. But I like real banan in smoothies. And, I like banana Laffy Taffy even though it's super fakey obnoxious tasting. I hate grape Laffy Taffy. All fake grape stuff makes me feel like I'm getting a headache ::)

I tried banana liquor once. Don't let me start on how bad that tastes.

Don't ever fry anything with soy oil. It gives everything smell and taste of fish. I guess it isn't a prob if you're frying fish though.  :D Using it "raw" is a completely different thing.

These are the best lemon wafers, IMO.

mouth puckering goodness.

Banana Laffy Taffy is exactly the reason I hate banana flavored anything. I really can't stomach any flavors of Laffy Taffy except strawberry and green apple.

I couldn't cook like him as I only have access to a kitchen, not a laboratory.  He freaks me to tell the truth as when I was an apprentice chef I was taught not to over analyse what I was doing, but to just get on and do it.

All you vanilla lovers should know that artificial vanilla is made with beaver anus.

Enjoy your beaver anus ice cream, suckers!

That's mighty thrifty, using as much of the beaver as possible.

My mom used to tell me hotdogs have "earthobait" in them... Earthobait is made of worms she said.

But, on the don't eat menu, Sesame Street came out with a cereal I wanted to try for the kids because it has extra iron.... yike, it tastes just like iron.  Gross.  Cool box though, words and learning and such, we saved the box but struggled for a month to get rid of the nasty cereal.

And on another note of liquor, did someone on the noid tell me that Wedding Cake Vodka was decent? : P yucky.

Dang, can't find the old SNL commercial this reminds me of.  It was a parody of the old "Smuckers" commercial and I remember the line "With a name like Painful Rectal Itch....It has to be good!"

It was the whole iron content thing.  Think they did it on purpose knowing a significant amount of children have low iron counts?  Yeah.
But I'd suppose I could have thought about the fact that it's a sesame street cereal.  Box advertising, again.  It had no color or dyes or anything, I thought it was on a decent level.  Nothing decent about the taste. .. *sigh

Bea, blackstrap molasses tastes pretty good in milk and it's got lots of iron.  You could use it for muffins or gingersnaps instead if the children don't like it in milk, but I find it pretty tasty.

Hotdogs are generally scary.  I used to eat Hebrew National when I ate them many years ago, but I gave them up.

Aidells makes some decent chicken and turkey sausages.

I'll have to give Aidells a look up.

I'll look at Kroger and see if I can't find some of that molasses, I may be able to hide it in their pancakes, but the muffins are a good idea.

Thank you.
He's still good at eating eggs, peanut butter, yogurt, and beans.  He just hates meat.

Grandma's molasses is pretty good. I think it's unsulfured.

They sell it in most grocery store chains.  Liver has iron, so does nutritional yeast.

Dark green leafy vegetables like kale and spinach have iron, so do beans that you prep from a dried state (soak them overnight and put a pinch of baking soda in them the next day when you cook them).  Chick peas are especially good.  Maybe you can get him to like hummos.  Raisins have a decent amount of minerals including iron and other trace metals we need, so he might be persuaded to eat them as snacks.  Raisins are good in muffins and they plump up nicely if you let them soak in a little warm water before you add them to the batter (squeeze the excess water out of them before you put them in).

That earthobait poo sounds like a good way to give a kid an eating disorder. Why do parents do poo like that?

I told you that cake vodka tastes like candy. Don't know if there is a "Wedding cake" vodka.

Aidells are expensive, and aren't that much better than average sausage.

If your kid has issues eating meat, play up the AWESOMENESS OF THE TYRANOSAURUS.

If your kids play games, explain that the food is their power ups, and that if they don't eat right, they will die.

Maybe leave the death part out? It is true though.

My mom put pickled beets in the spaghetti last night. Not diced, but sliced into little puck shapes.

It stained the noodles purple. Also she used bow-tie pasta. Not a dish I'd recommend, and I had a bunch of shitty nightmares.

Tonight we just had sausage hot dogs. I'll post that because it ended up really good.

Double post? golly it. I must warn people off.

So kraft mac and cheese. Impossible to golly up, right? NO.

Costco canned roast beef. I uncanned it. UNHOLY. smelled like canned tuna. My suggestion was to drain the nasty fluid and fry the meat to hell. OVERRULED.

Should have known it would come to no good.

so mac and cheese, made as normal, not realizing the horror that was to come.

Just don't buy it. Seriously. I puked my guts out. golly that garbage.

It's like tuna mac with projectile vomiting. Fun for all the kids.

Mom dumped the leftovers in the toilet (We do not have a garbage disposal at this house.)

Just don't make this. Seriously.

Tuna and mac and cheese is actually very good. Especailly if its a day old kraft mac and cheese. Yummy but the tuna has to be cold and the mac hot.
