Random Thoughts

In 1999,, there was a cencus taken and it was ascertained that 79% of people still believed in Angels.
What crossed my mind was how many believed in Goblins?
Cant have the Angel thing without the Goblin package too you know.
 Cant leave out the freebies.
And what about Zombies?
How many people believe in Zombies?
Thats the problem with Zombies,, theyre too incinstistant and never puntual.
Personaly,, I believe that if people believe in Angels,, they need to believe in Goblins,, the tooth fairy, the Easter Bunny and possibly even the Great Pumpkin.
Hey,, if your gonna believe in one,, you gotta believe in them all ,, thats what I say.
I keep my standards low.
That way im never disapointed.

They believe in whistling gnomes in Iceland. And.. I'd already posted about how believing in zombies is a huge problem in burying the dead in Haiti.

I think myths, legends and socialilogical significant historical ties still exist everywhere.

Plus, people carry those ideas with them even if they move. That's the basis of the book American Gods.

Niel Gaimen rocks!
I read that book,, there is a part 2 out there somewhere.
If you like him   read a book he did with Terry Pratchett called Good Omens.

As for random thoughts,, I allways wondered what would happen if someone tells you to say something in your "own words".
Imagine the setting,,your in a courtroom about to testify and the solicitor tells you to say what you saw in " your own words".

Solicitor: SO,, will you please, in your own words, tell the court what you saw that night.

Witness: Google flarp winsome, bling turp blatha nyoop!

Yes folks,, the witness,, in his own words,, testified on the happenings of some sordid events.

I keep my standards low.
That way im never disapointed.

^ There's a follow up Shadow short story in Fragile Things called Monarch of the Glen

^ They'd probably charge you with contempt for court :D

I believe in zombies every time I look in the mirror first thing in the morning.
Don't put off until tomorrow, what you can put off until the day after.

There is an exception to every rule, apart from this one.

The first time my son saw a turrtle in real life, he was so excited.
I told him it was a rock that got tired of him and it was walking away.
 He believed me.
He laso believed it when I told him that the lights in the forest were his real parents,, and they were frog people.
My brother used to have a hard time when he was 5.
I told him that their were people in his head with video cameras recording everything. Thats how he can see things and remember them after.
The people were replaying the things he saw.
He needed therapy after what I told him about the people in his ears recording everything people said. I told him they even recorded what he says when hes alone.

Reminds me of the comic strip characters The Numskulls.

Ever wonder about those little sayings?
You now,, Like " Takes the cake".
Take it where? To the bakery to visit the pies?
Or people that start off with " Well, you know they say..."
Who are they?
No really,, ask someone when they do that,, ask they who "they" are.
They cant tell you.
