Summon the Binklespup
« on: May 09, 2013, 03:08:36 AM »
So, some of you may have heard of this D2 thing. Sounds like a major bless'ed scam to me, but who knows.

I just watched someone named "Binkle" support D2. Didn't really seem like binks, but who knows?

Either way, bat signal. I'll put it out over on ael's land as well, but this seriously bothered me.

I've checked his account and, although truncated, he does have his email set to visible to members.

If you cannot see it and mail him, I'll set his account to forward emails to his registered address.

He used to only be a few miles away from me when we set this place up (he is actually member #1 on account that he beat me to the initial installation), but I think his circumstances changed.

No doubt he'd be very flattered.

Is his email visible to members?

No

His account is set to "Allow users to email me", but then, he had twiddled with his address which probably makes it invalid.

I'll alter it so that when PMd it will send a notification to the email he registered with - if indeed he still uses it.

.....

Ok, done that.  He'll now be notified when someone PMs him.

As for the person who joined IRC, I know what their resolved IP was.

[05 09 13 06:27:21] Binkel was [email protected] * 79.246.98.84.rev.sfr.net
[05 09 13 06:27:21] Binkel using moo.us.p2p-network.net Thu May  9 01:48:18 2013
[05 09 13 06:27:21] End of WHOWAS

This person did not say things that I would think I'd hear from him.

smokester, can you cross-reference his ip list against this IP? 79.246.98.84.rev.sfr.net  That would settle whether it was him or not. I guess.

you got it wrong, that was the resolved hostname for the ip. The ip is not in that order. Try again:

Non-authoritative answer:
Name:    79.246.98.84.rev.sfr.net
Address:  84.98.246.79

Its a french IP, but I figure binks possibly proxies in. from where, I'd have no idea.

He had set up a fail safe site for the Noid fora here:
http://binklespup.co.cc/index.php

but when I attempted to load this link, I kept getting a time out.  He often set up domains and then forgot about them.

I could be wrong, but I don't think binks would use 'kel over 'kle.  It doesn't feel right for him.

As for his ip: the last time he was here he was still living not far south of me at his family home, but I recall reading on Demonoid that he'd separated from his wife and was living alone in a small apartment.  So and historic ip that we have will no longer be valid.

I can see that his davidsfarm campaign is now inactive (please be careful if you google that as it yields some of the most disturbing videos I can imagine), and other projects that he had have also died out.

I would expect his email address is the best chance of contacting him, and as I have said, PMing now forwards an alert to that.

I got that from Binks probably a couple years ago from the Noid fora.  He had set it up as an alternative in case the main site went down.  It never seemed to get any use, probably because there was no need for it.  Yes.  I think Binks was going through some tough times.  Last he posted on the Noid fora he was talking about the terrible conditions of his domicile.  When he was still with his wife, he had posted some beautiful historic images of his town on the Demonsden.  I hope things have turned around for him.

My guess is that Binks will find his way quite soon to the resurrected demonoid.  So I PM'd him there as I reckon that is by far our best bet of contacting him.

We'll see.
