Stupid Anecdote
« on: February 15, 2020, 08:55:26 AM »
So this is a dumb one, means the world to me, but like I said, it's dumb.

In Fresno, there is a gas station before the lake, I remember square stupid character square, and it was pretty accurate in 2010, when I was there for a funeral.

It's just a shitty quickmart and gas station, but it lingers in my brain.

They had these stupid sandwiches in plastic containers... this must have been, 1993, 1994, but still, sandwiches in a plastic cone, and I was... ENRAPTURED.

These had to be the best sandwiches. Why else would they have fancy containers?

My dad was... conflicted. He was happy to make me whatever sandwich I wanted, why did I want this shitty gas station sandwich?

I guess that's my consumer whorism. Any... literally, ANY sandwich my dad made, would have been superior to that poo.  And honestly? I think he realized it... around the third time.

He bought me that lousy sandwich, and holy dog barf, that sandwich was garbage. AND I LEARNED NOTHING! I AM STILL A SUCKER FOR FANCY PACKAGING!

[update]

Wow, I was clearly drunk when I made this post, and this is necromancy, but I found a how it's made video on the prepackaged sandwiches

And here's a mockery of it:
