Has anyone at least tried "What we do in the Shadows"?
There is a movie and a series (they are similar but not exactly the same.  I've yet to watch the movie I hear it's good, and I adore the show in all of its gory and nerdy perversions.

🦇
I do think I'll watch Loki solely because I loved the Mandolorian, otherwise I'm sorta picky about superhero movies from nowadays . I watch them and enjoy most of them regardless.  Anything superhero I'm drawn to.

Yes, watch all of WWDITS.

It is the best.

I especially liked when Guillermo got his buffy spotlight moment.

Harvey Guillén (The actor who plays Guillermo) says that a Sarah Michelle Gellar cameo is his ultimate dream for the series.

Considering the room they got for the council of vampires, I won't say never, but SMG says she is completely bless'ed done with Whedon.

I've grown to miss hearing the intro.

I watched the series at 8ully’s suggestion and liked it. Don’t think I have seen the movie yet.

The movie has a different cast, but is still totally awesome.

I think in some thread on here I talked about the werewolf episode of the show to very artfully mix silly and actual scary, and the movie did it first.

Specifically the werewolves.

In the movie, the werewolves are a serious threat. In the show, somewhat less.

Still, when Guilermo is leaving the pose-off (Vampires vs. Werewolves) they ask him if they can keep the squeaky toy that got thrown off the parking garage.

And their eyes are glowing. Seriously well done shot, spooked me good.

As to my own TV watching, I keep trying and failing to start watching Stargate: Atlantis. I bought the DVD's, least I can do is slog through them... but I really don't like the first episode. I keep starting it up and wandering off.

I failed to get through the first episode of Stargate Atlantis.

I am in Season 3 of Get Shorty and it still doesn’t disappoint. We are getting ready to go home so my viewing is limited these days.  SS-GB and The French Village are also good.  The most recent season of The Expanse was kind of meh.  It’s as if the security of Bezos’ money allowed them to hire actors who fit better into a soap opera. Good looking but one dimensional. I think there’s one more season of that to come and probably one more book. Sadly I inhale them the moment they are released. Some good sci-fi series would be welcome.

Get Shorty (tv series) was really good.

We finished SS-GB and were disappointed, not at the quality of the show, which was really good, but at the fact that the BBC seems to have yanked it after only 6 episodes, so one season and if you want to know more, get the book.  The BBC seems kind of fickle about its focus on ratings & viewership over quality.  Indian Summers, The Hour, and SS-GB seem to have fallen into disgrace because not enough eyes were on the tube when it was broadcast.  All of these were first rate series with excellent writing and acting.

Now, I'm probably going to rewatch Counterpart as my husband and I were scratching our heads for another show to watch.  It's good, but not as good as any of the above-mentioned shows.

In short, we're open to suggestions.

I haven't.  Do you recommend it?  I posted more in the Reader's Nook thread as it seemed more relevant than here.

Ascension.
soap opera.  lotsa B range actors working with some total drivel of writing.
Mission to the unknown is a big fake with participants like characters under glass.

This is like Lifetime TV married ScyFy.  Gak.  Better to watch Nature or something.  Where's the Honey Badger when you need him?

We've been totally engossed in the Dirk Gently series. I read most of Douglas Adams back in the day when I could read and write, but didn't really touch onto this character. It absolutely "Adams" and entertaining in many ways.

I'm bingeing the French Village, French series about the Vichy gov't and the Nazi occupation.  The Americans have arrived in Season 5 and there's plenty of acrimony and "off with their head" justice to go around.  It's pretty compelling as a show.

I only recently read Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, which I found pretty entertaining.  I'll have to check the Dirk Gently series.  At first I confused the reference with George Gently, a detective series set in the early 1960s.  That's a horse of a different color.  A good show, but not so unconventional.

Mom got hulu so she just started vampire show that is good.

update:
She didn't like it. At all.

Browsing hulu sucks, it's all "recommendations", you can't just browse it like a bookcase.

Or I'm missing something. Probably that.

We started watching Locke and Key last night and it was better than I'd expected.

Weird thing is it felt like you were watching a movie rather than a TV show due to the music. Can't really put my finger on why, but I think it was overly suspenseful.

Anywho, only one episode down so it might be pants overall.

Fringe has just started from the beginning on one of the obscure cable channels, so I have been watching the first season. Quite enjoying it so far.

I saw that was on and considered watching it again as I enjoyed it first time round. It was better than "Manifest" for sure.
