Happy Feet 2 and a Pizza. Not necessarily in that order.
Don't put off until tomorrow, what you can put off until the day after.

There is an exception to every rule, apart from this one.

According to the weather forecast, I'll be busy being extremely cold.

I wish it was tonight already, as I'd go to bed with a hot toddy and a muffin.

Stoopid daytime.

Today the littlest smokette turned 6 and we all went to the London Aquarium followed by the London eye and finally McDonalds. Tonight then I will be trying to digest a beanburger and a Yorkie McFlurry (damn! did I enjoy both) with he aid of some Bucks Fizz (not the band I might add).

I hope your date with Buck goes well. ;)

The 'ette' was meant to be the giveaway and she was totally in the zone today.  Probably because she got her long awaited DSi and a ton of other stuff, but also because she had her family dote on her the entire day without any interference from her brother.

My date with Buck was tasty and I swallowed a bottle load  :)

I see smokette had a very happy birthday.  :)

Blessed DSi!! It saved my life in many car and plane trips while otherwise my daughter would have been bored to death.

What I've done tonight? I've cooked a lot (I'm freezing stuff so my husband have something to eat while I'm traveling). The thing is I drink while cooking and then I drank some more during dinner...  ::)

I was originally against sophisticated games systems as I would prefer my kids 'read' to entertain themselves.  It's not that I oppose them playing games, it's just in my experience game playing takes over completely and any hope of balance is lost.  That said, my daughter is showing the promise that my son did so she was due a reward.

Tonight it is a buffet and a Barbie movie (we celebrate a birthday boxing day in our house - not that I incorporated it).

Fortunately that was never a problem with my daughter.

interesting opinion.
my son played his ps3 / ps / ds (to a degree to) and still does play a little now ,but not so much as before.
he now has gone back to reading .
at the moment
Lord of the Flies / Of Mice and Men / The grapes of Wrath.
deny them and they will want , allow them and they will play , but eventually they will return to what they like the most.
that reads like a pompous crap,I know but it worked for my eldest  and i cannot deny he is far above my educational level.

I don't mind them playing on games consoles per se, even though there are far too many of them around these days (PS3 at their cousins with the wand jobbies, a Wii at their Nanny's, a Xbox 360 with Kinect at there friends that are neighbours) it's just that I would prefer that they played them at 'downtime' rather then at any available time. A bit like what XT was saying about when her daughter has to be entertained whilst travelling.  Time will tell of course but I do feel that without them, kids would either be a lot healthier as a product of being outside all the time (as I was), or far more studious as reading was the only thing that relieved the boredom for me. Mind you, that was at a time when there were only 3 TV channels to choose from.

Sometimes I wonder if maybe it's because this generation's born with PS, Wii, Nintendo, etc, etc they don't obsess so much with those. Well, some of them cause one of my nephews would have withdrawal symptoms if the Wii breaks down.

Mind you, that was at a time when there were only 3 TV channels to choose from.

Every once in a while my daughter asks me to tell her (again) how when I was little I only had 3 channels in my city (2 locals, 1 national) and I only had 2 hours/day of kids' shows: 1 hour of cartoons and the other hour was maybe Zorro, Batman, El Chavo but not much else. No wonder I played a lot of sports back then.
