glad you're feeling better smokes.
8ully, you're plenty smart.  you probably got a defective unit with a short in it.  perhaps it was one of the other georges.

trying to sleep.  it's been an illusive goal lately.  got in a good 1 1/2 hour nap this afternoon today after class.  that shot my day to hell, but what can you do?

Nah, I was definitely stupid. I was lazy, and have a small sink, so I took the foreman out to the yard and used the garden hose to powerwash the zappy politician. I avoided shooting the heating element (small enclosed plate underneath the contact grills) and dried with paper towel. Apparently it wasn't dry enough.

I've heard that electric shocks can be used to improve mental states, but this one drove things the other way. I've been down all day.

Hopefully tomorrow the Foreman Judgement will have passed.

I have only a cursory acquaintance with this appliance.  Don't the cooking surfaces come off for easy cleaning?  If not, the thing's poorly designed and if you have to resort to powerwashing the thing to clean it properly, then it's not your intelligence that's at fault.  Still, if you aren't acquainted with Hunter Thompson's Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, you should read it.  Water and electrical appliances don't mix well.

If you are going to do that again, 8ully, at least video it and put it on YouTube.  Do this if only to dissuade the other 4 people in the world who think it might be a good idea.

Here:  The design of the older grills sucks as attested to by all the gymnastics engaged by various people who have tried to clean it.  Sounds like you best douse it with gasoline, throw a match on it (don't do this in your house) and see if it burns off the charred accumulated junk.  It probably won't clean it but it will give you a satisfying way to get revenge on it for shocking you.

You could try writing/calling the company of your experience and see if they cough up a new one.  The fear of litigation might just spur them into action.  The new models apparently have removable plates for ease of cleaning.  http://cart.russellhobbs.com/consumer-services/warranty.aspx?sid=GeorgeForemanUS

Weeping.

Lost new glasses (yes, I did it again), broke an irreplaceable art-deco lamp (clients), snapped and indicator off the bike putting on my panniers, and finally got home to find I had another nail in my rear tyre which then promptly deflated.

Like I said, weeping.

:o  You better stay at home. Otherwise a camel is likely to pee on you.

I now use a Slazenger bum/shoulder bag that I put my wallet, glasses, phone and keys in to avoid this situation, but this morning I was rushing to a job to rendezvous with a large delivery and I did that stupid thing of putting the glasses in the same pocket that I lost the last pair out of.  The job was only a mile away and I have lots of other excuses that might justify the act, but in truth, if there were 2 of me I'd beat myself up good and proper for being such a twit.

I don't do self mutilation; there'd have to be 2 of me.
