He's got a mac, stonemasonry is not beyong their capability.
Don't put off until tomorrow, what you can put off until the day after.

There is an exception to every rule, apart from this one.

Hmm, quite a serious thread you have goin on here OC1,

why did you start such a serious thingy? at this point always remember what the Joker says "Why So Serious"? plus with fools like us around ya you'll never run outta happiness  :)

as for the thread, my 1st thought related to the subject since i havent seriously thought about a headstone yet was in some school grade eons ago when i first read a poem about Gilgalad, i really liked it, gave me the kinda feeling that this thread gives so i'm gonna contribute that for some good fun:

Gil-Galad was an elven king
Of him the harper's sadly sing:
the last whose realm was fair and free
between the mountains and the sea

His "sword" was "long", his lance was "keen"
his "shining" "helm" afar was seen
the countless of heaven's field
were mirrored in his silver shield

But Long ago he rode away,
and where he dwelleth none can say,
for into darkness fell his star
in Mordor where the shadows are

 :(

I was thinking something like " HA! Screw with me now"
Or maybe something somber " Here lies --------, a true friend to all"
But knowing my luck they will make a mistake like " Ding dong, the bastards gone"
I keep my standards low.
That way im never disapointed.

cremated for me but their are so many worthy quotes and poems.
Do not stand at my grave and weep,

I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you wake in the morning hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft starlight at night.

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there,  I do not sleep.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there,  I did not die!

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there,  I do not sleep.

I am the song that will never end.
I am the love of family and friend.
I am the child who has come to rest
In the arms of the Father
who knows him best.

When you see the sunset fair,
I am the scented evening air.
I am the joy of a task well done.
I am the glow of the setting sun.

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there, I did not die!

i'm into poetry

I've always loved the 'do not weep for me' one.

In my travels I've always made it a point to visit old, old graveyards to read the headstones. Often odd, eerie, or humorous. Always glad I took the time. Only in Germany there were places I wouldn't go. After a 3-year research project, I couldn't.
