Wish me luck...
« on: December 15, 2009, 02:22:35 PM »
Guys,, I got an Interview with Plastech Technologies tomarow in the engineering division. Wish me luck.
This is a dream job for me. This company makes and inovates machined plastics and polymers for aeronautical and automobile industries.
Its still a small company, employing a handfull of technicians and just 50 machine operaters. Ill be doing the job I did at Kenco Plastics ( polymer engineer) but in a decent environment with real safety equipment, so no more putting my health on the line .
Ill be polymer engineer again ( screw Kenco Plastics).
Ill see a jump in pay and actual benifits. The plant owner and ceo , Dennis Hope, is a decent fellow and was a freind of my late father.
I told him that if I am hired, I wanted hired on my own merrits, not because of family ties. This seemed to impress him,,so I may have it.
 Keep all apendages crossed!
I keep my standards low.
That way im never disapointed.

Best of luck mate.

I'll keep as many appendages as possible crossed but you're due a break so hopefully they won't have to stay crossed for long.
Don't put off until tomorrow, what you can put off until the day after.

There is an exception to every rule, apart from this one.

Ok,, update on the interview.
I wont know for sure till after January First whether I got it or not,, but Dennis Hope seemed to want me.
We talked for about an hour about everything and he showed me the plant and what I would be doing. When he asked me if I had any questions I asked him if they are running anything volitile like Velcron or any of the combustible PVC compounds.
He seeme dimpressed that I knew about the more volitile substances in plastics manufaturing. He said they didnt run Velcron but they do run some PVC, then asked me if I knew any stabalizing agents for PVC. I said I knew three,, and told him what they were ( I cant spell the damn names,, theyre a mile long) and asked if they used them.
He said they did, and if i knew the proper mix for them.
I told him and how they were to be prepared,, he acted like it wasnt well known. ( its something I learned reading something on another forum a while back,, who says these places arent educational).
He has a nice little operation going there,, im hoping I get the job. We discussed benifits and everything. Its a nice place.
I keep my standards low.
That way im never disapointed.

I haven't kept my appendages crossed, but I will now, I promise.
I think you aced the interview and I really hope you get the job.  ;)

By the way, if hired,  does this mean an end for your wrestling career?  :(

Not really,,well,,,im pretty much semi reitired anyway. At 42 and the injuries ive sustained i need to slow down anyway.
Im just working there ( unbeknownst to them) untill later next year when I get everything done to move away.
I was going to stay at Kenco until last week. This job is just like Kenco,, a means to an end.
This job is just safer and pays better.
I keep my standards low.
That way im never disapointed.
