I wonder how the bookies did?  Spain were 4/1 favourites before a ball was kicked and I realise that could have been based on Spain's European cup victory, but if they were those odds due to the amount of money being placed on them, the bookies will be suicidal today.

That goal was partly conceded because of a bad call by the referee :-\ it was clearly a corner.

The Dutch did play rough, but the Spanish did their fair share of diving and fouling as well. How ironic that the only time Robben decided to not dive was the only time the opposition didn't get a card. Spain were the better team, but I'm sick of Spain's hypocriticial holier-than-thou attitude. Whatever, it was a bad match with a bad referee who made bad calls.

I'm happy that Mueller got the Golden Boot and Best Young Player while Forlan got the Golden Ball; both well-deserved.

I quite enjoyed the final, especially the second half and I think Webb had a pretty good game considering.  The fact that the Dutch are accusing him of treating them unfairly and the Spanish are calling him a Dutch ally, only goes to prove that he must have refereed with balance.

well he did decide not to send off 2 dutch players who should and would have been sent off in any other game.

yes the Spanish as most European side act with aplomb when tackled.
at least they didn't stick the boot in literally and with such finesse of sheer brutality. :D

I think Webb tried to keep 22 players on the pitch as it was the World Cup Final, sending anyone off would have handed the cup to the other side and they were both guilty of infractions.

We see Webb week in week out in the premiership and I personally think he is one of the tougher but fairer referees around, and a very good one at that.  He wouldn't have such an outstanding record if he weren't.

It's his birthday tomorrow too.

LOL that kung fu kick. that was a red definitely. but his desire to keep everyone on the field gave everyone a free pass to do all kinds of crazy poo. he influenced the game too much, and not in a good way.

sending anyone off would have handed the cup to the other side
Heitinga got sent off 80 minutes too late for dive from iniesta, and then iniesta scores. hmm.
