Tonight I intend to do pan fried Monkfish, new potatoes, a little veg medley and perhaps a fish jus or bisque to help it down.

fresh pasta,olive oil,crushed black pepper,parmesan cheese,fresh chilli from the garden, little crushed garlic from the garden
a classic vegetarian dish ( just swo the parmesan cheese)

Last night I skipped dinner on account of going to this during the day (and of course eating too much):

It was good fun and some great food.  The only problem was that the area has become even posher than it previously was and the prices reflected that.  A pint of cider was £5 and you couldn't get a plate of food for less than £6.50.  While that may not sound much on the face of it, we are talking a polystyrene plate and food that is cooked well in advance so it isn't quite as tasty as it looks on the boards.

I ended up drinking Chinese beer as it was only £2.50 a can (quantity more than quality in these cases), and had a vegetarian Tagine.  The family had the meat version that looked scrumptious.

I clicked on the link and when I came back I meant to say it looked expensive but I see you covered that.  :)
I don't know if I could take my daughter to such a place without having to hear "when are we leaving?" every 10 min.

Plenty of sweets, fudge stalls and other kids around the place.  It was actually the kids' grandparents that wanted to bail first.

Battersea Park is when of the better parks in the capital too.  It has a boating lake, a Buddhist shrine that is something to behold, it overlooks the Thames, it has a small zoo, a funfair at this time of year and some great fountains to stand in when it's really hot. 

I just wish I could afford half of the attractions.

I just wish I could afford going to London.  :'( ;D

Today is my mum's birthday. I'll take care of the cake but they're dreaming if they think I'll cook much more than that. Both my sister's family AND my mother (who was working there for a couple days) are coming from Buenos Aires this very afternoon so it's probably pasta from the usual trattoria.

Isn't it better to just be able to relax with your family than slave over a hot stove preparing an elaborate meal?

We're having quesadillas.  It's already prepared, so an easy night.

Idk... it depends on how many people we're talking about and if I get any help. I mean if they're willing to pour me a glass of wine, set the table and wash the dishes then I'm game.  :)

had take out pizza and bread sticks  :-\ . on the plus side, still have half left for a late night snack after a few lager's, and, perhaps, watching The Avengers  :)

 sorry Smoke's, only 2 forums i frequent and i had them both open, plus i was having a few  :-\
