I wish we could all have a bbq, Mom could bring something horrible.

Actually, she is going to a bbq tomorrow, and her cake deflated after she baked it, so she's bringing a half height cake. I do wonder how she intends to apply the icing.

I'm still on the fence. On one hand, I love bbq. On the other hand, I feel sick. If I caught something on the bus, I don't want to share.

oh well, at least I have beer.

Schmoogs could wear one of those shirts with SECURITY written on it. Mom has a "golly the police" shirt, but I doubt she'll wear that to the bbq.

Well, you and your Mom are welcome at my Niece's. I'm heading over around noon. If you like kids like me, there will be a poo ton. That's what I got the Tootsie Pops and fireworks for. They are just lame kiddie fireworks (sparklers, etc...) Yeah, I know, it's a cheapshot, even though, it works. Uncle Timmy kicks ass. The last get together (B-Day party), they called me Tootsie Pop Timmy. lol Sam's Club has these HUGE bags of Mini Tootsie Pops. It's now my traimark. Well, time to get up and start the coffee. I think I will treat myself to some marmalade.

One time at Fry's, My mom and I were stopped by one of those "fill out our petition, donate to something" people.

She started her pitch with "You guys like kids, right?" At the time, we were dealing with a punk neighbor kid, so I said "No, not really".

She was shocked, and didn't even bother with the rest of her pitch.

Mom dropped the cake off, BBQ was lame, came home.

What are your thoughts on Onijin's passion? I miss that guy, he had a good sense of humor.

Ma said her (unintentional) short cake was a hit, she didn't even manage to get a piece. I watched SG-1 at home.

Funny enough, the fireworks lined up with the part in "A matter of time" when they bomb the stargate to keep earth from getting sucked into a black hole. I was decently freaked out before I remembered what day it was.

O'Neill managing to bomb an alternate earth in 2019 from 1998 is EXACTLY the type of crap SG1 got up to.

Contrary to my last post, getting the site to automagically redirect to https is proving erratic the rewrite rules aren't sticking. This can be overcome by ensuring your bookmarks for the site always start with https.

In the meantime I'll keep working on it.

I never go to the front page but always to the "Unread messages" link which is showing as HTTPS. I do have the "Not secure" on this page but it seems to be due to some of the images on the page as being "http://" linked, such as the avatar images (the SMF images are properly https:// linked).

I went to the home page and got the happy "lock" icon. I'm using the latest Chrome Browser if it matters.

That's interesting as it seems the wildcard redirect is working for all links within the site. However, if you simply go to:

www.diasfora.co.uk

it doesn't redirect to https although, again, all internal links do.

Time to call upstairs for help methinks.

Aha. I believe that was mine and not the help from upstair's fault. It was getting rid of the persistent PHP error that meant uninstalling a load of crap, and I believe that wasn't re-installed completely.

My apartment may be poo, but I've lived in worse.

Still, having a car would be nice. Part of what makes that damn civic getting stolen burn so hard is I rode the bus to the bank, pulled the cash, then rode the bus home, and I was all "Oh thank god I won't have to do that for a while".

I never even got to ride in the damn thing, I got sick riding the bus!

Back when I was around 15 or so, I had a hallucination, and stupidly admitted it in therapy. I heard a voice, and it said "You will face trying times"
In retrospect, a neighbor may have just been watching a televangelist at high volume, as I heard it in the shower.

I could certainly appreciate some less trying times, that's for damn sure. Pretty sure we all could.

Oh, we got a letter from the Sherriff. They haven't found poo, but they punched it into the national database. I do wonder why they waited so long, but I'm pretty sure that civic is long since parted out.

Doctors still ask if I hear voices, and I'm not sure they believe me when I say no.

Feel free to laugh, I certainly do. It's laugh or cry, right?

I do wish there was more leeway in mental health treatment. I recognize their "hard lines" and the poo of it is, when you're looking for help, you have to recognize those hard lines, or your life can be very much impacted.

I'm still hoping for a sane sticker. Such a thing doesn't really exist. There are things you just can't say in mental health treatment, and I think that ironically inhibits actually solving mental health issues.

I'm sorry you don't have access to better and more sensitive medical treatment. The car theft was just so wrong. There has to be a circle in Hell for people like those who stole it from you.

A close friend from high school suffered from schizophrenia (a cluster of symptoms that were mostly controlled through medication). I heard all kinds of horror stories about the treatment, sometimes misguided, that she suffered through (being transgender didn't help matters either). The worst are the clinicians who treat their charges like zoo animals instead of people. The holier than thou social worker is a scourge of humanity. I'm sure you have had to deal with a veritable mine field of such people.

My friend smoked like a chimney and, near the end, suffered from chronic lung problems. She died in November. It's hard not being able to pick up the phone and talk to her.

Just going back for a second for those who may be interested in why the site wasn't automatically secure like it was before the move (why I couldn't get the redirect to stick), it was because we are now running on openlitespeed rather than apache and it was a little harder to write to the .htaccess.

The whole process has been quite beneficial to the site as over the years I'd been busy/lazy and the version of SMF we had was at least 3 versions too old - if not 4. While getting everything to work right, everything has been updated to the best that can run and errors that we have probably had for years have now gone.
