Summer Food.
« on: May 29, 2020, 09:29:57 AM »
I mean, there are the easy ones, the bbq foods - Hamburgers, Hot dogs, chicken.

And sides, obviously things that cut the heat like potato salad or egg salad or regular salad.

I'm not a fan of baked beans. Those appear to be a summer staple.

I can't really BBQ as I used to. No yard, live in an apartment.

I'd say quite a bit of mexican food falls under the "Summer food" umbrella, but what do you choose?

I don't like baked beans, period.  But there are many beans that can be used for salads.  I make garbanzo bean salad and hummos regularly.  Having hummos to use as a spread for wraps with other vegetables rolled up in lavash or a lightly warmed tortilla or pita is a good easy meal.

We eat lots of salads.  Additions like nuts, raisins, apples, or avocados, cucumbers, etc. help make it more of a stick to your ribs thing.  Naturally if you have a bit of left over protein, rotisserie chicken or other meats, you can add that as well.
