Scottish Music
« on: May 17, 2009, 11:13:33 AM »
I'm starting this thread as dedication to one of my most favorite things, Scottish Music, especially the folk music. I'll really appreciate if any of you guys would contribute to it.

Flower of Scotland - The Corries - 1975  :)

Tricia Corrigan - Suantra? - Abair Amhr?n ( Not Scottish Gaelic but Irish Gaelic)

I've heard enough Gaelic to know that she isnt pronouncing it correctly,  ;), (its more English sounding than Irish Gaelic)

There are many versions of these songs but I've found that "The Corries" version is always way better

..naw rough is good Although I liike mellow also. Either way it's hard to find people that have the get the sould of the music right. I tend to lean towards more of a tradional sound so I don't mind bands like the Chieftains (although they're Irish). It's hard for me to find the right mix of any band I'm in love with, so I'll listen to any you guys post. Most of the ones posted I have some songs by already.

Yup, their from Dunfermline, so where The Skids and Big Country.

No Mean City, that's Glasgow. AC/DC's founder members where born in Glasgow Malcolm and Angus Young, Bon Scott was also born in Scotland at Kirriemuir.

Both of these are in memory of Stuart Adamson, founder member of both bands.  :'(

The Skids - Into The Valley

Big Country - Look Away
