I always liked Griffin's writing because it was fun, quick reading. It had serials disease, but the novels tended to be accessible, even if you hadn't read prior installments. I do like the way serialized books let you return to worlds of prior novels, but tracking down a full set in a library is a mugs game. As to the digital lending service, why is it full of werewolf porn, and wtf is with the license scarcity scam publishers have going?

I read a lot of the Presidential Agent series when I was extremely ill, so it really helped me out of a dark place. Apparently his war books are standard enjoyment reading for many military members, like Clancy was. I'd say Griffin was a bit warmer than Clancy, but I am a sucker for competency porn, where people do their jobs, and do them well.

I remember in particular, the Presidential Agent is a pretty high muckity muck in Germany, and his Lawyer makes him bring back an extremely specific cake whenever he flies over to do business. I doubt I'll ever find myself in Germany, but if I do, I'll track down that cake.
